Ride Updates & News:

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce has enjoyed producing this event for the past four years. We have worked really hard to create a fun, and safe, ride. We have appreciated your participation. The Sylva Rotary Club has been a great volunteer partner, and we are grateful for their support.

However, the event has outgrown our very small staff of two (2) people. Our top priority is rider safety and enjoyment. Technically, we need about 60 people/volunteers to properly produce this event. Lots of people really enjoy participating in the ride, but we cannot continue to safely produce the ride without an adequate number of volunteers. We have offered to partner with the Jackson County Parks & Recreation Department. The JCPRD is considering this option, but no final decision has been made.

Another factor that has impacted the 2010 ride is the 75th Anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway. As many of you know, about 40 miles of the ride takes place on the Parkway. Ride permits were very limited this year due to Parkway Anniversary events.

As of this date, we don't have a scheduled date for the 2010 Tour de Tuck. We hope it is an event we can be involved with in the future. Thank you again for your interest and support. Feel free to check back for updates about the future of the Tour de Tuck.
